Help The Sportsmen’s Alliance Battle In Court

By Bow StaffOctober 11, 2016

Sportsmen will finally have their day in court on Tuesday, Oct. 18, when the Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation will argue to delist the Western Great Lakes wolf from the protections of the Endangered Species Act. The Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation leads a coalition that seeks to return sound, scientific wildlife management practices to state control. Wolf populations in Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin are at record levels, well beyond what was deemed “recovered” when originally listed as endangered in the 1970s. Yet, U.S. District Court Judge Beryl A. Howell returned wolves to the endangered species list in late 2014 as a result of a lawsuit brought by the Humane Society of the United States and other animal-rights organizations.

It takes a community effort from sportsmen for our side to stand a chance in these expensive legal-system fights. The other side knows this and they deliberately slice away at us; wolves and grizzly bears here, bait hunting and bowhunting there.

The only way to win is to unite, stand for what we believe in and fight together!
