The Front of Center percentage is the amount of forward weight on your arrow. For the best shooting performance, you should make an attempt to reach the ideal balance for your application. IDEAL FOC %
- Target & 3D shooting: between 7% and 11%
- Hunting with broadheads: between 11% and 18%
Use the diagram and form below to calculate the FOC of your arrow.
- The arrow length in inches should be measured from the throat of the nock to the back of the insert. It does not include the length of your point.
- Use a triangular shaped block of wood to figure out the balance point, as it gives a more accurate reading than just balancing on your finger. Also, that measurement is taken from the throat of the nock as opposed to the back of it.
