By developerFebruary 3, 2016

US and International response from educators and coaches to NASP®’s new Academic Archer program explodes to over 1000 students entered into the program! Educators from over 25 US states and Canadian Provinces have implemented the NASP® Academic Archer Program with their students.

Since its inception in 2002, NASP® has always aimed to become a motivating force and provide safe access to the shooting sports for students in grades 4-12.

“We are so excited about the obvious popularity of Academic Archer in such a short period of time…Teachers and Coaches obviously want to use AA to motivate and recognize their high achieving students, and motivate others that need a little push,” said NASP® President Roy Grimes.

Dr. Tommy Floyd – NASP® Vice President and General Manager said, “It’s a great example of how NASP® continues to grow, and support educators and coaches with a program to engage students in their primary goal – higher academic achievement in the classroom! The educators and coaches that have already enrolled their students in the program, realize that with AA, NASP® is even more closely aligned to increasing success for students through motivation and recognition of excellence in the classroom! Imagine the excitement at NASP® nationals when these archers are recognized for their academic proficiency!”

As recommended by the NASP® Student and Educator Advisory Council back in November of 2015, Academic Archer was recently launched on the NASP® website and designed to provide a platform for local schools to use in-school archery as a motivator for classroom achievement. “Imagine the excitement at NASP® nationals when these archers are recognized for their academic prowess!”
