The all-new Yeti Roadie 24 Hard Cooler delivers a fresh spin on the popular Roadie cooler that’s found its way into the back of trucks and boats of hunters and outdoorsmen everywhere.

The Roadie 24 is a beefed up – and slimmed down – version of the classic Roadie. Take a closer look in our Yeti Roadie 24 Hard Cooler review video below…

Beefed Up or Slimmed Down?

As mentioned, the classic Yeti Roadie was a favorite among hunters, fishermen, and outdoorsmen everywhere. So why the change? What was gained by making the move to a new cooler design?

For starters, the new Roadie 24 is 10% lighter in weight, making it easier to handle and haul. But despite its lighter weight, it holds 20% more, and even performs 30% better thermally than the original. That’s right. The Yeti crew has managed to build a lighter cooler, that holds more, with the same rugged durability we’ve seen in the past from the Yeti lineup.

Meet the new Yeti Roadie 24

The cooler was designed to be taller, with enough headroom to easily handle your favorite bottle of wine. But’s it’s also slimmer so it can be tucked away in the tightest confines of your truck, back seat, or boat.

The Roadie 24 delivers a better way to pack your beverages, and now allows you to keep your favorite bottle of wine on the chill as well.

You would naturally think that with this cooler being lighter and thinner, that it would have a compromised ability to keep things cold. However, the Roadie 24 is built with PermaFrost insulation. It’s the same insulation built into the company’s Tundra Hard Coolers. You can count on this compact cooler to keep ice for days, just like the big boys.

More space, lighter load, same great insulation.

Hinge, Handle & Latches

The breakdown of most coolers can be found in their hinges, handles, or latches. That’s why Yeti has paid special attention to these features in the design of the Roadie 24.

It’s built with the NeverFail Hinge System, featuring an interlocking design with hinge pins to prevent damage or breaking, regardless of the abuse you dish out.

The NeverFail Hinge System is built tough to prevent damage or breaking.

One of my favorite new features is the QuickLatch latches that make opening and closing the lid easier than ever before. No longer does it take two hands to access your cooler. This new design makes it quick and easy, with just one hand.

The QuickLatch design allows for easy, one-hand opening and closing.

And finally, the new HeftyHauler Handle is flexible, so it never gets in the way, or restricts how you stash your cooler. It also makes for a much more comfortable carry than what we saw on the original Roadie.

The HeftyHauler Handle is a comfortable handle upgrade from the previous Roadie cooler.

The Double Duty Cooler

This cooler has quickly become a new favorite for me as I’ve put it to use on the bowfishing boat, back of the ATV, truck and tractor while knocking out deer hunting chores. It also doubles nicely as the perfect dove hunting stool, or place to sit while deer and turkey hunting in the ground blind or shooting house.

The Roadie 24 makes a great stool for the dove field, deer blind, or duck blind.

It comes in a variety of colors, including charcoal, tan, white, sagebrush green, navy, and pink.

The Roadie 24 is compatible with Yeti’s Tie Down kit, allowing you to keep it where you want it on your boat or truck bed. The cooler sells for $199.99.
