Trail cameras have been around for well over three decades now, and we’ve come a long way from the old 35mm CamTrakker and Cuddeback days. Trail camera technology is getting pretty crazy, and all that tech often drives prices up. But as some of these technologies become more common, we’re beginning to see them trickle down into the lower price point cameras. Here, we’ve put together a list of the Best New Trail Cameras for 2025.
If you’d like to see comparison charts between all the cameras that we list here, be sure to scroll to the bottom of the article.

Here's our video for cameras under $150
Stealth Cam Spectre 4K
First on our list is Stealth Cam’s new Spectre 4K. The two biggest features of the Spectre in my opinion are the addition of Live-View, and the Dual-Core Processor. Live-View allows you to stream a live video feed directly from your camera to your phone. At any moment you can see what’s in front of your camera. The powerful Dual-Core processor allows the cameras to split tasks, meaning that it can be detecting and triggering new photos or video while simultaneously uploading previous images. That’s right, no more down time. No more missed triggers.
This flagship camera additionally sports 4K video and 40MP images, on board GPS, internal storage of 32GB, On-Demand Images, dual SIM cards, and is compatible with Stealth Cam’s FieldMAX rechargeable Lithium battery packs.
The Spectre 4K is Stealth Cam’s most feature packed camera and it comes in at $199.
Stealth Cam Revolver Pro 2.0
A handful of Stealth Cam’s cameras get fresh re-boots this year with 2.0 versions, including Stealth Cam’s 360 camera, the Revolver Pro 2.0. The improvements to this 2nd Gen Revolver include an updated housing for better protection against the elements, on-board GPS, and the addition of their Dual-Core processor which allows for simultaneous uploading and image capturing, so there’s no down time.
But the best update is Live-View. Once loaded, you can see absolutely everything surrounding the Revolver by choosing any of the 6 zones to stream from, making the Revolver Pro 2.0 the ultimate in live streaming surveillance. You can pick one up now for $149.
Stealth Cam Deceptor MAX 2.0
The Deceptor Max 2.0, like its predecessor, has high end features like live-view streaming, built-in GSP, dual SIM cards, 40MP photos and 1440 QHD videos. New for the 2.0 is the addition of the same Dual-Core Processor as the Revolver Pro 2.0. There’s also now 32GB of internal storage, an extended flash range of 100’ and a redesigned housing for better durability and weather resistance. The Deceptor Max 2.0 packs all these features into a camera retailing at $119.
Stealth Cam Fusion MAX 2.0
The Fusion Max also gets a 2.0 upgrade, adding in 16GB of internal memory, on board GPS, 1080p HD videos, and a re-designed housing. This 36M, cell-cam comes in just under $100.
Muddy Trifecta 180
New from Muddy is the Trifecta 180. This unique camera has 3 sets of motion sensors that cover a 180 degree field of view. When set to Single-zone capture, the camera will rotate to the triggered zone and snap a 36 MP photo or take a 1080p HD video. It’s like having three cameras pointing in three directions.
You can however switch it to 180-zone capture, and when triggered, the camera will rotate across all 3 zones and produce wide panoramic images of the entire area. In addition, the Trifecta has dual-SIM cards, and can take on demand photos and videos. Great for monitoring field edges and fence lines, the Muddy Trifecta 180 comes in at $119.
Muddy Matrix 2.0
Muddy’s Matrix gets a quick update in the Matrix 2.0. The 2.0 keeps the 36MP images and 1080p HD videos, as well as dual SIMs and On-demand captures, but it gets a higher adjustable burst rate of up to 6 photos and a quicker and more adjustable recovery time, all in a redesigned case. The Matrix 2.0 currently retails for $99.
Muddy Mitigator 2.0
The Mitigator also gets a 2.0 upgrade to 720p video for 2025. If you’re looking for an affordably price camera that allows you to buy multiple cameras for maximum coverage of a property, give this camera a look. This On-demand capable 24 MP cell-cam is the cheapest in our lineup at only $69.
Wildgame Innovations Terra XT 2.0
Wildgame Innovations updates their Terra Cell camera lineup with the Terra XT 2.0. They’ve added On-demand photos and video through their HuntSmart app, Dual SIMs, and an 80’ flash and detection range to this 24 MP and 720p camera. And at $59, it’s the cheapest camera on our list.
Browning Defender Vision Pro Live
Livestreaming comes to Browning Trail Cameras with the Defender Vision Pro Live. Through their Strike Force Wireless app, you can stream 1080p video straight to your phone.
The Vision Pro Live also takes 46MP photos, has built-in GPS, and can take on-demand photos and video. With a range of 110’, it has one of the strongest flashes out there and Browning’s Illuma-Smart technology automatically adjusts the brightness to help reduce whiteouts. The Defender Vision Pro Live is priced at $219.
Spartan GoLive3
Just released mid-summer is Spartan’s GoLive3. This update to the GoLive line increases the internal Lithium Ion battery’s life 30% and bumps up the maximum HD video length from 30 to 60 seconds. It also improves the location accuracy with its Enhanced GPS, has an improved 12v DC plug that is stronger, and has Spartan’s all new antenna.
Like the GoLive2, the GoLive3 has a black flash with an 80’ range, 2” LCD, takes 8pm photos and HD videos on demand, and utilizes a MicroSD for onboard image storage. When released the new GoLive3 will retail for $249.
Tactacam REVEAL Ultra
Tactacam released their REVEAL Ultra. The Ultra takes the same specs and features of last year’s REVEAL Pro 3.0, like 4K video and 16GB internal memory, but adds high end features like live video streaming and a switchable low-glow or no-glow flash. The additional built-in GPS is unique in that it has its own separate power source, so even if the camera is turned off or the battery removed, the GPS can still transmit its location for up to a couple weeks. It’ll even notify you if the camera moves more than ½ mile. The Tactacam REVEAL Ultra is priced at $199.
Reconyx HyperFire 4K
Earlier this year, Reconyx dropped their new HyperFire 4K. This update to their HyperFire line brings true (non-interpolated) 4K resolution for videos and 8MP images. The No-glow flash has an incredible 150’ range. Couple that with a 100’ sensor range and a ¼ sec trigger, and you’re sure to never miss an animal. Always known for their rugged durability, Reconyx has redesigned the housing to be even more weatherproof and hold up better to extreme conditions.
A live-stream, Multi-Sim Cellular version will be released later this summer, but availability and pricing for that are not yet available. The non-celluar HyperFire 4K runs for $399 and is available for order now.
SpyPoint Flex-Dark
The Flex-Dark brings a switchable no-glow to low glow, 40 MP camera to Spypoint’s Flex lineup. Like most new cell cams, the Flex-Dark has dual SIMs, built-in GPS, and supports on-demand captures. It also captures 1080p HD videos, and has a 100’ flash and motion detection range. It should be noted that this camera takes MicroSD cards instead of the standard SDs. The Flex-Dark can be picked up for $119.
SpyPoint Flex-S-Dark
SpyPoint’s Flex series of cameras gets a new top dog, the Flex-S-Dark. The key features of this camera are the included solar panel and lithium battery and the upgraded 40MP photo resolution. Like other cameras in the Flex series, it sports an adjustable low-glow/no-glow flash, dual sim cards, on-demand photos and videos, built in GPS, and is one of only a handful of cameras that utilize MicroSD cards. The Spypoint Flex-S-Dark comes in at $169.
Covert Interceptor
Covert starts a new series of cameras with the Interceptor. This 16MP cell cam produces 1080p HD videos, It’s Real-Time Imaging allows for on-demand photos and video, and it includes built-in GPS tracking. With its upgraded antenna and improved battery life over previous Covert cell cams, the Interceptor just makes the cutoff for this list at $149.
Covert Interceptor Pro
New from Covert Scouting Cameras is the Intercepter Pro. Like all cameras in the Interceptor line, it comes with a built in GPS and you can get on demand photos and video. The Interceptor Pro upgrades the imagery to 20 MP photos and 1080p HD video and increases the flash range from 75 to 90’. It also adds a 2” screen for easier navigation and image viewing. The Interceptor Pro is currently priced at $189.
Covert Interceptor Solar
The top of the line camera in Covert’s Interceptor series is the Interceptor Solar. It has all the features of the Pro, with upgraded 32MP phots and 2K video. And of course as it’s name suggests, it comes with an integrated solar panel. These new features will cost you an added $30 with a retail price of $219.
