    Hey Justin,
When you use the GoPro session do you use a wifi remote with it? Or do you need to reach up to turn it on when you want to start filming? Besides my main cam, I run two GoPros, one on my bow facing back at me and one on the tree looking down on me. I find the wifi remotes inconsistent and pulling out my phone to use the app is a pain too. I’m hoping they have improved the remotes with the session? Or is reaching up the best way? Also, how is the battery life on the session?

    Thanks

    • Phil – I gave up on using the wi-fi remotes and my phone to control cameras. It’s too much of a hassle and drains the batteries on all of my devices a lot faster. I just reach up and turn it on. Most of the time I have it mounted on my bow hanger so I turn it on as I’m reaching for my bow. Battery life is pretty decent. I only turn it on a couple times each hunt for a few minutes at a time. I’d say I get at least 4-5 hunts before I have to charge it. I also use it on a head mount to capture getting prepped at the truck, walking in and climbing up the tree. Todd has a Hero4 with a monster external battery pack on it and a huge SD card. He sets the camera up and lets it run during his entire hunt. If nothing happens he just deletes the footage off the SD card, charges the battery, and goes back after it the next day. Kind of a neat idea.

  5. Congrats on a nice buck! Was thinking about getting into recording my own bow hunts but not sure where to start? I have watched most of your videos and I vaguely recall you possibly going over what you use. Anyway, I’m curious what you use? I currently have a Go Pro but zooming capabilities aren’t there and I “recorded’ my buck kill on time lapse…
