Join us on some exciting bowhunts as Justin Zarr encounters several nice whitetails before filling his second Illinois buck tag in early November.  We’ll also join Clinton Fawcett’s son Avery on the hunt for his first whitetail and check in with Tyler Rector who puts some meat in the freezer.

  1. Justin – last year I was presented with a very similar shot. Almost identical. About 10 yards out, I drilled a mid-size 10pt through the heart. I was sitting a little higher in my stand though, as I came down through the back strap. He went about 25 yards with a devastating blood trail. But you’re right – your execution has to be perfect. Would I have made that same shot every time? Absolutely not! It’s tough to envision the vitals when you see all that bone piled up over his brow. Nice hunt, great recovery and good way to end your season! Happy for you.

shot placement, shot placement, shot placement! Not ethical shots! I’ve seen you guys post a lot of hunts with bad shot placements! You need to start practicing what you preach!

  5. Excellent perseverance Justin on tracking that buck. The hunt with Clinton’s son was priceless. Loved it. And the ants on Tyler’s doe! That’s something I’ve never seen before.

  6. Glad to see the perseverance on Justin’s buck, you owe the deer to work as hard as you can to find it when you wound it. Glad the property owners were called and that they let you follow the blood trail.

Congratulations to Justin for an awesome bowseason. I’ve been rooting for you for the past 3 years to redeem yourself. I do think you’ve got to hold yourself to a higher standard with these shots on deer. A standing away shot is not an ethical shot, even if you do recover the deer. Certainly, with all of the pro staffers you have on your team, you can put together a better episode than this one. Bowhunt or die baby!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. A straight on or away shot or hard quartering shot should never be made. Most will not connect properly and possibly loose these deer, including Tyler’s deer. After all, you really are teaching other bow hunters how to do it right. I really do try to learn from this show. 8. Hey guys just wanted to let you know how important your show is to me! I am currently deployed with the military. I have always enjoyed watching your videos. It is fun seeing some monsters hit the ground. I live in mississippi and we don’t have deer like that down here, at least not where I hunt! But now your show is even more important to me! I am missing family and friends, sad I am missing Christmas, and it sucks missing deer season! I am now not only appreciating the big deer y’all kill but I am kind of living vicariously through your show! I have seen alot of your episodes but I have gone back to the first season and have been watching every episode you got! It sucks being gone but having access to your show is making it a little more bearable! Sucks I am missing deer season, going to try and make up for it when I get back and go after the spring turkeys!!!

You complainers drive me nuts Let’s face it there are no ethical shots with a bow . Your ripping a hole in a deer , you don’t thinks that’s totture. If I have shot , I’m gonna take it . And if the deer is under me , yeah I’ll spine it . At least I’ll know I’ll find it . Nothing g wrong with a spine shot . I don’t thinks it’s ethical to not find your deer and wait til the next day to find out it’s been eating by a coyote . The deer could still be alive and be tortured by coyotes, u think that’s ethical ? Mr . Ethic head We try for the best shot. But however u slice it. no . Every shot hurts the deer . Let’s just try to kill them quick .
