Venison Goulash Recipe

When looking for something new to make for dinner, its pretty convenient when the recipe calls for ingredients you  already have at home! Well, this Venison Goulash Recipe is just that! With simple ingredients that don’t require you to have to go shopping, this venison dinner dish is a great option. 

Easy to make, doesn’t take a ton of wait time and it will leave your guest coming back for seconds! 

Venison Goulash Recipe

Serving Size: 4 People
Total Cook Time: 35 Minutes

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 lb Ground Venison
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Large Onion – Chopped
  • 2 Garlic Cloves – Minced 
  • 2 Cups of Tomato-Based Pasta Sauce (About 13 oz.)
  • 1 Can of Diced Tomatoes (14.5 ounces)
  • 3 Tbsp of Tomato Paste
  • 2 Cups of Water or Beef Broth
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper – Diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 Teaspoons Italian Seasoning
  • 2 Large Bay Leaves
  • 1 1/2 Cups of Elbow Macaroni Noodles – Uncooked
  • 3/4 Cup of Shredded Cheddar Cheese

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a sauté pan on medium-high heat, cook the venison until no longer pink. Once cooked though, remove from heat and add venison to a large pot.
  2. In the sauté pan, add olive oil, onion and garlic and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes until onion appears translucent. Once the onion is translucent, remove from heat and add onion and garlic to the large pot. 
  3. Place the large pot over medium heat and add tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, tomato paste, green pepper, salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, bay leaves and water (or broth). Stir until combined. Cover and let simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Stir in the uncooked macaroni then cover and let simmer for an additional 20 minutes or until pasta is tender. 
  5. Remove from heat. Remove bay leaves. Add cheese to the goulash and recover until cheese is melted (3-5 minutes) Then its ready to be served! Enjoy!
