The time has finally come. The best days for bowfishing are upon us. And if you like to take your bowfishing to the competitive level, ample opportunities abound the next couple months with these killer bowfishing tournaments for 2016.

BAA World Championship / April 16-17 / Hardin, KY

One of the big events of the year is leading things off this time around as the Bowfishing Association of

America (BAA) hosts the BAA World Championship. Teams will travel from across the country for the chance to win the title of World Champion. It’s a true honor…but it won’t come easy. The best of the best will be present to battle this one out for the title. It’s all happening back at KY Lake this year, one of the nation’s premier bowfishing lakes.

It all takes place this weekend. The BAA crew says there will be a BAA meeting Friday at 5:00pm at the tournament location where they will hand out awards. On Saturday, food will be provided by the ladies of WACPAC for a very small fee. If you are registering the day of the event, please show up early to sign in and pay.

17 Annual Muzzy  Classic / April 23-24 / Guntersville, AL

The Muzzy Classic is one of the longest running tournaments going these days. It’s a great tournament with tons of fun to be had. The tournament is held at Lake Guntersville, home to some of the biggest fish in the country. The prizes are great…and the people are even better. This is one event you won’t want to miss. This tournament is limited to the first 100 boats that sign up. Check out www.muzzy.com for more information on this exciting tournament.

Bowfishing Tour’s Battle on the River / April 30-May 1 / Paris Landing, TN

In it’s second year, the Battle on the River is quickly growing to be one of the most fun shoots of the

year. In addition to the Big 20 Format, the tournament features a unique Rough Slam format that is a lot of fun. The event is held at KY Lake with open trailering, so plenty of options are on the table.

Last year’s event brought teams from 7 states. The competition was tough as the teams battled it out in late summer. This year the tournament is scheduled for primetime on KY Lake. The action should be great!

Register your team for the battle at www.bowfishingtour.com. Weekly gear giveaways are taking place each week leading up to the tournament for teams that are registered for the tournament.

Freedom Shoot / May 14-15 / Eddyville, KY

The Freedom Shoot is a cool tournament with a great cause. Proceeds from the event go to help fund Homes for Heroes. This tournament runs from 6pm to 3am with a $1000 first place payout.

Last year this tournament saw an incredible load of fish brought to the scales. Better yet, a new world record fish, shot by Matt Rudesill, rolled through weigh-ins during the event. It’s a great event led by some really fine folks in west Kentucky.

All-Out-Carp-Out / May 20-21 / Eddyville, KY

The All-Out-Carp-Out, hosted by Backwater Outdoors, started in Alabama.

Their event held on Lake Guntersville has quickly grown to be one of the nation’s leading bowfishing tournaments. This year they are offering an additional tournament in west Kentucky.

The fish will be big…and the prize money even bigger. With $50,000 in cash and prizes at stake, you can bet there will be plenty of teams eager to cash in at this event. The overall biggest Bighead Carp will pay out $12,000, so it’s honestly anyone’s game.

In addition to the main event, there will be plenty of other opportunities to win.

Bass Pro U.S. Open Bowfishing Championship / July 8-10 / Memphis, TN

It’s pretty much the Super Bowl of bowfishing. If you only get one chance to travel for a bowfishing event this year, this is one you don’t want to miss. This event is truly second to none. It’s all the good stuff of bowfishing crammed in to one weekend. The event also plays host to the World’s Bowfishing Fair, with vendors from across the industry on hand to display some really great gear.

The payout is huge, with the first place winner taking home $25,000. And the Big Fish category will pay $5000. There’s so much to see and do at this event, you better plan to stick around for the whole weekend.

The event is being held at the new Bass Pro Pyramid along the mighty Mississippi River. The Pyramid is a must-see stop for any outdoorsmen. It’s a unique store, unlike any of the other Bass Pro stores.

You can register for this event at www.weboutdoors.com/bowfishing
