LAST UPDATED: May 1st, 2015

It’s that time of year! Yes, the annual ATA Show (archery trade association) kicks off 2014 in style with a look at all of the latest archery gear for bowhunters and archers everywhere. I’m excited to be here and in the coming days I will be sharing with you the most exciting products. Even though the show doesn’t “officially” start until tomorrow, I was lucky enough to get in tonight and get a sneak peek at some of the new products that bowhunters and archers will be using in the coming months. Here is just a taste of what I’ve seen thus far…

Outdoor Prostaff Wire Wrap

If you want to squelch noise in your bow riser while also looking like a true bad a_ _, then you have to check out these awesome looking dampeners. Made of a special material, the barbed-wire wraps around your bow riser to strangle any noise before it can reach wary whitetails standing down range. I must say I was really impressed when the owner, Nick Saalfrank, gave me a live demonstration of just how effective these wraps really are. They come in a large assortment of colors including black, silver, brown, red, orange, green, pink, yellow, blue and white.

Nocturnal Lighted Nocks Helio

The guys at Nocturnal have taken lighted nocks to a new level. The new Helios is actually a combination of a lighted nock and lighted vanes. The concept is interesting and I’m just as anxious as you to see it in flight for myself. The Helios come in a 6-vane configuration and weigh in at 54 grains (nock and 6 fletching). They fit most arrow sizes and come in green and red.

Under Armour

Building off of their highly effective scent control clothing, Under Armour has jumped completely into the scent control market with the release of a variety of odor products. While no additional info was available, it’s safe to say that Under Armour now has everything a scent-control fanatic (like me) could ask for.

Ameristep Hyde Stand

Known highly for their ground blind production, Ameristep offers the new Hyde treesatnd. Featuring a durable, rustproof, cast aluminum platform, the Hyde is more stable and will last much longer than a standard hollow-tube design. Without welds, seams or rivets, the Hyde is free of game-spooking “pings” and squeaks at the most inopportune time. The Hyde is offered in two models, the Skywalker and the Cliffhanger, both featuring 21.5×33-inch, self-leveling platforms. The only difference is the seat size. The Skywalker has a 15×12 inch cushion and the Cliffhanger comes with a roomier 21×15 inch comfort zone.
