Few hunting garments are as functional as a vest. In fact, a vest is the perfect apparel piece to deliver warmth and comfort throughout the majority of days you’ll spend in the woods waiting on the opportunity to punch your next deer tag. I can layer up, or down, under a vest and be completely comfortable through the chilly days of early fall, all the way up to the colder days of the late season.

Do you wear a vest to keep your body's core warm and comfortable?

Now, thanks to the crew at Scentlok, the job of staying warm with minimal bulk has become even easier with the introduction of their new BE:1 Reactor Vest Plus. It’s a new vest in the Scentlok lineup that’s designed with a heating element to keep your core warm and comfortable when the temperatures begin to drop.

Check it out in the video below…

Warmth Without the Bulk

With 150g Thinsulate insulation, this vest performs nicely as a stand alone vest, even without the heating element being activated. However, when the temperatures really begin to fall, you can put the heating element to work, keeping your core warm and comfortable on the coolest of days.

It’s the perfect on-demand heating option that allows warmth without the bulk.

How it Works

The vest is designed with 3 different heating element outputs to spread the warmth across vital areas of your upper body for maximum comfort.

You’ll find two on the front chest/shoulder region, as well as one placed between the shoulder blades on the back.

The vest features one button activation, so it’s really simple to use. Once plugged in to a power source, you press and hold the power button a couple seconds to turn the heat on. Once it lights up, you simply press the button again to scroll through the different heating levels.

One button operation makes things quick and simple.

The vest has 3 different heating levels, Low (100-107 degrees), Medium (107-113 degrees) and High (113-118 degrees).

When testing, I found the elements to begin putting out noticeable heat around 30-45 seconds. In less than 2 minutes, the vest was putting out maximum heat and working at full potential. It’s a fast heat source that won’t leave you waiting.

Strategically placed heating elements keep your core warm and toasty, even when temperatures begin to drop.

How it's Powered

The vest is powered by a USB power source. This battery pack or power bank is not included with the vest, so you’ll have to use your own.

The good thing is, it’s the same power bank that you’ve probably already got around the house  to charge your phone, computer, or other gadget.

The right pocket of the vest has an interior pocket with a velcro closure to house and protect your power charger once connected to the vest’s power cord.

Plug the vest in to a USB power source, and the vest begins putting out heat in less than a minute.

Other Features Built In

The vest is built with premium micro tricot fabric. What does that mean?

It means it was built to be quieter by design. No loud and obnoxious materials that make noise as you move or slip through brush. It’s whisper quiet from top to bottom.

It’s also built with Scentlok’s Carbon Alloy technology. It’s the same odor adsorption technology that helps hunters go undetected from deer and other big game animals year after year.

You’ll also find 3 pockets built in to the vest. Two zippered hand warmer pockets, as well as a zippered left chest pocket that is perfectly sized to hold your cell phone, rangefinder, or other  gadget within easy reach.

The new Realtree Excape camo pattern is one of several color options in the new BE:1 Reactor Vest Plus.

The vest is available in a variety of color options including Realtree Excape, Mossy Oak Terra Gila, True Timber 02 Whitetail, and Black.

It sells for $199.99. Check it out at your local Scentlok dealer, or online at www.scentlok.com
