The newest player in the arrow building game is Altra Arrows. It’s the latest in the stable of quality brands held by The Outdoor Group. The group is known for brands like Elite Archery,  Scott Archery, Slick Trick broadheads, and CBE bowsights. But for 2023, the team has announced its latest venture, Altra Arrows.

The focus and goal of the team at Altra Arrows is to help archers consistently achieve precise accuracy with every arrow released.

Attention to Detail

The staff at Altra Arrows takes great pride in their attention to detail throughout the arrow construction process. Their desire is to provide the customer with the most consistent and reliable products possible for a greater fit and feel in their archery experience.

The Altra Arrows crew is comprised of passionate archers with a focus on raising the standard in quality arrows and components for bowhunters and tournament archers.

Take a closer look in the video below…

An Architecture of Accuracy

Accuracy is the foundation the Altra brand is built upon. They refer to their process as an architecture of accuracy. You’ll see it in their No Spine Technology, a manufacturing process that significantly reduces the arrow’s spine.

What does that mean? “No Spine Technology essentially eliminates the spine, or the stiff axis, of the arrow,” says Daniel Karcher of The Outdoor Group. “The end result is easier tuning and greater accuracy.”

Think about it like this – no more having to spin test to find the sweet spot for the fletching process. Say goodbye to spine alignment. You’re simply building on a shaft that’s designed for greater consistency and accuracy throughout. The setup and tuning process has now been simplified.

These high-grade carbon shafts, combined with premium components, greater tunability, consistency and customization deliver greater options for the archer that enjoys the process of building the perfect arrow, front to back. Altra’s product line offers a variety of arrow sizes and components to help archers build the exact setup they want and need on the line or in the woods.

Altra Reinforced Concentric Outsert System

Altra Reinforced Concentric Outset System, better known as, A.R.C.O.S., was built for durability and performance with plenty of options for the perfect fit. The insert secures into the arrow shaft at a depth of 0.875″, while the outsert then threads directly onto the insert and encapsulates the leading end of the arrow at 0.43″ creating greater durability.

The unique design features rubber O-rings that come pre-installed on the insert to aid in locking the outsert in place which reduces vibration and improves concentricity for a more precise arrow set up and down range accuracy.

As pictured below, you’ll see ample options for adding weight to the front of your arrow with the 20gn insert weights threaded to the back of the inserts. Even if you’ve already glued your inserts in to the shaft, you can still add 20gn insert weights to the back of the insert with the use of the insert weight tool from the back end of the arrow shaft.

Final Thoughts

I like the fact that Altra is delivering plenty of options in the arrow build process. They have everything necessary to go as simple or sophisticated as you desire. I like that I can glue in standard inserts and hit the range, or tinker all day in the shop with FOC options with the A.R.C.O.S. system by adding or removing insert weights. Hunters will appreciate the convenience of adding/removing the 20gn insert weights for quick adjustments on the fly, throughout the season with the insert weight tool. It truly allows you to build the exact arrow you’re looking for on the target line, or in the woods.

From their shafts and components, to their packaging and accessories, Altra is delivering a sharp and simple, yet sophisticated arrow system for the demanding archer.
