This Western Kentucky buck is one that might stump a few people.
He’s got a unique rack, and we do have a little bit of history with this buck to where we can make an educated guess of how old he is.
This buck exhibits a petite yet well-defined face with pointed ears and eyes that appear wide open. Its legs appear longer than the body cavity, and its hams and front shoulders are still developing and less than muscled. I would estimate the deer’s age at 2.5 years.
Based on this deer’s body and neck size primarily, I would estimate him at 3.5 years old. Looking at just his rack could easily lead one to believe this buck is older, but the body indicates a younger deer.
According to the size of his belly and his chest when he turns sideways, along with the previous year's trail camera data I believe he was a solid 4 1/2-year-old buck in 2022.
