Bowfishing Tour’s Battle on the River is in the books, and it once again proved to be another challenging tournament for teams chasing big, spawning rough fish in the waters of KY Lake. Despite a week full of rain and a nasty weekend forecast, bowfishing teams battled it out for big fish, prizes, and cash.
The event was once again held on the banks of beautiful KY Lake near Paris, TN. Teams from across the eastern U.S. showed up in search of the big fish that would help secure a win in the tournaments Big 20 format, as well as the overall winner of, Big Fish.
After a long night on the water, the tournament staff and teams welcomed the warm sun rising over the water at weigh-in time. It’s a fun time of grippin’ and grinnin’ as big fish are brought to the scales to be weighed. The crowd continued to grow as teams and curious visitors stood around to see what would be pulled next from the fish barrels.
When it was all wrapped up, Team Night Prowler secured the Big 20 1st place position. The team consisting of Andrew Pruitt, Chad Uhls, Josh Goodhue, and Collin Howell received a check for $3500 and the 1st place Trophy Rock.
2nd place went to Team OCD Bowfishing. The team is made up of Jesse Bazzel, Zack Davis, Derrick McCuistion, and Todd Downs. These guys received a check for $1500 and the 2nd Place Trophy Rock.
Team Triple XXX once again placed in the top three this year, rounding out with 3rd. Jim Ed Gill, Kate Huggins, Michael Feezor, and JT Powell stayed consistent on the big fish and were in the money with a check for $750 and the 3rd place Trophy Rock.
4th Place went to Tycen Henry, Evan Owen, Nick Gibson, and Garret Cross of Bottomland Bowfishing. The 4th place prize was a Poseidon bow from Fin-Finder.
Team SEMO Bowfishing, from Missouri, took 5th place this year. The team is made up of Jon Hunter, Luke Hunter, and Josh Harding. They received bowfishing gear from Muzzy for their 5th place finish.
As mentioned above, Team OCD Bowfishing also cashed in on winnings for overall Big Fish. Their 59-pound Buffalo secured them the $700 cash pot, a $1000 Bonus Bucks check from Oneida Bows, and a brand new Oneida Osprey bow.
