New Wisconsin Typical Archery Record

Wisconsin deer hunters kill big bucks. It’s just what they know and do. And every once in a while a record breaker buck takes the right path and walks past one of these Wisconsin hunters.
So was the case for John Kassera on November 5, 2015. Even after 50 years of hunting, Kassera had yet to punch a tag on a buck of this caliber. It was the buck of a lifetime…and for Kassera, it just happened to be in bow range.
Record book bucks are becoming quite the trend for Wisconsin hunters in recent years.

The buck was officially scored in January and edged out the previous state record of 191 6/8″ harvested in Dodge County in 2014. The buck had a net score of 193 4/8″ and a gross score of 201 5/8″. The buck has main beams of 30 6/8″ and 30 5/8″.
