The 2015 Bowfishing Association of American (BAA) World Bowfishing Championship is in the books. The event took place this past weekend in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, with 43 teams from across the country fishing waters along the Mississippi River. Teams had the opportunity to compete in the Numbers Division and Big 20 Division, as well as enter the Big Fish Pot. The entry fee was $200 for one division or $300 for both divisions. The Big Fish pot was $25 per team. There was over $10,000 in prizes given away at this year’s event. Here’s a quick look a the 2015 BAA World Bowfishing Championship results.
After a long night on the water, teams were required to be back for weigh-ins by 7:00am. When all the fish were finally counted and weighed, winners from both the north and south were named world champions.
The Wisconsin boys, Nate Bula, Matt Smazal, Brandon Cole, and Tyson Warner of Team SLIMETIME won the world championship in the Numbers Division with 318 fish. 2nd Place went to Team Fowl Attitude with 302 fish, and Team Bowfishing Unlimited came in 3rd Place with 298 fish.
Team Lethal Injection’s Matthew McCrary, Trent Green, and Chas Higdon of Alabama brought the world championship back to the south with their win in the Big 20 Division with 380 pounds.
