The ATA Wrap-Up

For bowhunters, the holiday season doesn’t end on New Years day, thanks to the Archery Trade Association show.  I was fortunate enough to attend the show on behalf of Table Mountain Outfitters and Bowhunting.com.  It seemed to me that the products for 2013 focused on increasing efficiency and performance for existing products rather than innovation and new bowhunting products.  With that said, there certainly was no shortage of products to see.

One of my personal favorite products from the show is the Arojac by Hamskea Archery Solutions.  The folks at Hamskea told me this product was developed after a target archery shoot in Cheyenne, Wyoming.  The targets were frozen and arrow removal was impossible, that situation gave birth to the idea of the Arojac.  The Arojac uses the target to create a fulcrum, so as the user pulls on the handle, the Arojac pushes against the target pulling the arrow free.  The Arojac also pulls arrows from trees, barns or any other solid object an arrow may impact.  I can’t even begin to explain how many times I could have used one of these!

Being a western hunter another company that impressed me was Tenzing with their new packs and bird hunting gear.  Hardcore elk and mule deer hunters have extreme appreciation for quality, well designed packs and that is something Tenzing has accomplished in 2013.  Tenzing’s new CF13 is the most versatile pack I have ever seen.  It begins as an ultra strong and lightweight carbon frame that can be used as a pack frame for hauling out the meat or head gear from your trophy animal.  When the pack is fully assembled it operates the same as any top of the line back country pack to accommodate your entire back country hunt.

Scent control continues to be one of the largest focus items for bowhunters across the continent.  While scent control clothing and scent elimination products like Tink’s B-Tech are the most popular methods of scent control, the whole process should start with how your clothing is cleaned.  The Elminator by Purewash is a system that hooks to your washer and replaces all detergent by impregnating clothing with oxygen (ozone) to completely eliminate human and other odors without the use of laundry detergent.  Oxygen has long since been the best way to kill human odors.  Perhaps the best part of this product is that it isn’t limited to hunting clothing, it cleans everyday clothing making tough stains and odors disappear entirely without any detergent.  It works for your work clothes and grass stained sports jerseys as well.

Eliminator Clothing System

The Eliminator kills odor in clothing and extends the life of your clothing.

These are just a few of the products that I felt were note worthy from this years ATA show.  You can see hundreds of products from the show right here at bowhunting.com.
