Saying goodbye.

This entry is written as a farewell to a property I lost I called the 127 (for it’s acreage).  Last year I found out about the impending timber harvest, subsequent stump grinding and bulldozing to make the land 100% tillable acreage. Only now it is reality.  Although only 35 of its acres was in timber, it had some good bedding, a decent travel corridor and one good inside corner.

It’s not that this plot was prime land, the fact is that it was just a decent place to hunt.  What makes it a big blow is it’s only 10 minutes from my house and access to land is very difficult in my area. I have 100’s of hours invested in this land from scouting, shedding, glassing and even more when you include treestand time.  I would love to continue to hunt this area but access was denied to me by the neighboring land owners who also hunt and I cannot blame them for not wanting to share their land with another hunter.

Now it’s time to move on and attempt to aquire some new land to replace this one.

To follow is a section I snapped a photo of just today.  They have a little bit more clean up to do yet before they can plant it next spring.
