Folks,
First I'd like to thank everyone for their continuing support of our new hunting chair, the Huntmore 360. Since its release, we have received countless success stories and pictures here at our main offices from hunters across the country.
When we started out on this project our main goal was to create the world’s finest quality hunting chair, as well as the quietest. We've done that! However, at times we felt not completely satisfied with some of our production units as compared to our original prototypes. It appeared that some production units did not meet our highest expectations and number priority in the design of this product, its quietness while in the field!
Since the launch of the 360º we've done continual testing and monitoring of our product in the field, under real-world conditions. This type of testing has recently paid off with some minor improvements that yield a quieter product through some easy upgrades. Upgrades so easy to achieve, we believe anyone can do!
Below we have included the instructions needed to help upgrade your Huntmore 360 chair so that it can perform to the quiet perfection it was meant to!
What you’ll need.
-Gorilla Glue
-1 61/4" hole diameter brass washer.
Basically you add two small brass washers to the hinge U-Shackle assembly and front leg at the U-Shackles. The brass washers go next to the cast aluminum hinges, or front leg U-Shackle assembly. You need to remove the bolts and insert the brass washer between aluminum hinge and the nylon washer and then the U-Shackle. Re-insert the bolt, lube and tighten the bolt snug so that there is no wobble in the hinge assemble. I don't know why but it prevents a vibration noise when the hinge bolt is set too tight. Do the same for the front leg. I still recommend you oil the U-Shackle assembly with Remington oil with silicon or vegetable oil. Dead Down Wind makes a great scent free oil also!
If you glue the three washer Caps on to the upper legs you get an even quieter 360º. What this fixes, especially with the two back rest uprights, is it prevents rotation and binding between the aluminum tube and the washer cap. This slight rotation is what sometimes can create the creak when you lean back hard against the backrest.
We added the glued on washer cap upgrade on all chairs shipped after 10/19/09. You can check yours by looking for a slight white glue line between the washer cap and the aluminum leg. If your HuntMore 360 does not have this glue line, please continue to read the following directions.
Loosen and remove the bolts on the upper hub legs. Remove a leg and then pull off the Washer Cap. *Warning, Remove and glue only one leg at a time! Put two small beads of glue around the outside diameter of the aluminum tube, one above the bolt hole and one below. Dip your finger in water and wipe it on the inside of the washer cap, this should be enough to catalysis the glue. Rotate the cap as you push it back on to the leg. Line up the bolt holes of the washer cap and leg. Then re-insert the leg/washer cap back into the upper hub. Install the bolt and tighten so that the leg stays put when flipped right-side up.
