Pennsylvania hunting licenses on sale under new system.

Harrisburg, Pa. (AP) – Pennsylvania Game Commission officials say a new automated license system will make it easier – and quicker – for hunters to get ready for deer season in 2009.

Hunting and fur-bearer licenses for the 2009-10 seasons are now on sale using the new Pennsylvania Automated License System. Licenses went on sale Monday and are available on the commission's web site, as well as in person at more than 600 locations across the state.

The new system uses the applicant's drivers license to record personal data.

Game commission officials say applications for antlerless deer licenses can now be submitted three weeks earlier. Residents can begin applying on July 13,2009 and nonresidents on July 27, 2009.

License costs are unchanged for this year, but there is a new 70 cent processing fee for each new purchase.
