When choosing between a fixed broadhead or a mechanical broadhead how do you determine whether a mechanical is best suited for your bow or fixed. Do you have to take in consideration of your ibo

The speed of your bow should always be a consideration when determining which broadhead to shoot.  However, the reality is that if you're shooting over 60 lbs of draw weight out of any modern compound bow, you are likely producing plenty of energy to shoot your choice of a fixed blade or a mechanical.  More importantly, you should look at the overall weight of your arrow, and type of game you're hunting, when making your broadhead choice.  If you are shooting light arrows (under 400 grains) your best option will likely be a fixed blade head.  Mechanical broadheads take quite a bit of energy to open, and light arrows often don't have much energy to spare.  Also, if you are hunting large game animals such as elk, moose, bears, etc often times you will find that a heavy arrow and fixed head will give you the best penetration.  Although there are plenty of big critters being killed with mechanical heads as well.
