Stabilizers on flagship bowsArchery technology has advanced to the point flagship bows are dead in hand, quiet and almost perfectly balanced at full draw. Is it necessary to install a stabilizer on a flag ship bow? And how do you select the correct length, weight and installation location on your bow?I’m shooting a PSE EVO EVL 32 and considering the 8″ Bee Stinger Hunter ProX.

Hey Tyler!  Yes, today's bows are as well-balanced and shock-free as they've ever been.  You're absolutely correct, from a sound-dampening perspective, stabilizers aren't doing a whole lot these days.  But, as the name implies, they do help you stabilize the bow and hold steady while at full draw.   Think of holding a broom handle out in front of you with no weights on it.  It's pretty easy to move around and tough to hold steady.  Throw some weight on the end of it and it it becomes a lot easier to hold it in one spot, and resists movement.  That's the same concept with stabilizers.  Adding more weight further away from your bow can help you hold steady and make more accurate shots.  That's why target shooters use them!  As for the balance aspect, bows are balanced great when there's nothing on them.  Start adding in a rest, sight, quiver, etc and they get out of balance quick.  A side or rear stabilizer can help a lot with that.
