Tethrd ONE Stick Review

The Tethrd crew has been shaking things up the last several years with the introduction of some great new gear designed for the saddle hunting  community. Last year, they introduced the Phantom saddle. It’s a slick design that is super light and really comfortable, both while walking in, as well as while hanging out in the tree. This year, the company is unleashing their all-new One stick. It’s a climbing stick that raises the bar in ultralight climbing gear.

Check out the all-new One stick from Tethrd.

Lighter, faster, and quicker to set up – it’s what hunters are striving for in their gear these days.

Check out the latest from Tethrd and how these issues are addressed with their new One stick in the video with Ernie and Greg, from Tethrd, below…

The Sub-One Pound Stick

As the name implies, the new One stick comes in at just under one pound. There’s nothing like it in the industry so far. Better yet, that one pound weight includes the company’s DynaLite rope attachment.

That’s pretty impressive when you consider most other sticks in this category come in at twice the weight as the One stick. Think about it. Less than 3 pounds for a set of 3 sticks on your back. It’s quite the game changer when it comes to packing super light.

How It's Made

The One stick is engineered with Grade 9 aerospace titanium tube construction, and a chemical weld process. It is immune to corrosion, 50% lighter than steel, and 300% stronger than aluminum.

This seamless construction yields extreme strength-to-weight ratios, so no worries when you’re in deep and climbing high.

The One stick also features a 6061 CNC precision machined step-standoff in a one-piece design that is built to be deadly quiet and maximize strength.

Sound like an overkill? Maybe. But Tethrd says it’s the toughness that’ll allow hunters to climb with confidence on every hunt.

The One stick is built solid and goes on the tree quick and easy.

Tested for Safety

Obviously, any time you start cutting out weight and material from a product, the integrity of the product comes into question. Is it strong enough? Has it been tested to be safe?

The truth is, the One stick has been rigorously tested by multiple 3rd party certified independent labs and exceeded all ASTM safety standards recognized by the Treestand Manufacturer’s Association (TMA).

Tethrd’s proprietary chemical bonding process, combined with technology borrowed from the farm equipment and automotive industries allowed the company to maximize strength without sacrificing weight.

The One stick comes weight rated at 300 lbs.

Quick and Quiet Install

Tethrd’s patent pending DynaLoc tab allows for quick, quiet, and simple attachment to the tree. It really makes the setup process quick and easy.

Tethrd is calling their new DynaLite rope system the lightest, simplest, and most innovative quick-attach tree rope system ever developed. On top of a strength rating of well over 2,000 lbs, the intuitive X-lock design provides positive tactile feedback that lets you feel the stick locking to the tree.

Get the hang of how it works and you can have a stick on the tree and in place in less than 5 seconds. It’s a quick and quiet option that’s gonna be hard to beat.

Quick and easy install comes standard with the One stick.

More Bang for Your Boot

The one piece step/standoff provides a generous platform for your boot as you climb in and out of the tree. No more tip-toeing around on tiny steps. This one is built for comfort and confidence.

It includes an 8.5 inch dual-step width for maximum agility. Tethrd’s boot containment design engineered into the step geometry, combined with smart traction tread, gives hunters maximum climbing real estate. There’s honestly enough room in this design that you could use your top step as a platform if you wanted to ditch your regular platform and go even lighter in your setup.

A Better Stacking System

One of the features that can make or break a set of climbing sticks is the way they stack together. Are they noisy on the commute? Are they easy to stack and pack? Many companies out there have failed in this department. Not the case with the One stick.

Tethrd’s StickLoc stacking system is intuitive, whisper quiet, and incredibly strong. It allows you to quickly and efficiently align and stack sticks together for easy transport. There’s no need for extra straps, bungies or slick tricks to quiet the load. The integrated rubber o-ring design keeps your sticks weatherproof and noise free.

There’s no moving parts – zero – just an incredibly intuitive attachment system, designed to be free of the hassle you’ve found with other sticks.
