Prime Inline 3 Bow Review

By Brodie SwisherDecember 17, 2021

We finally got a chance to lay hands on the all-new Prime Inline 3 compound bow, the latest from Prime for the 2022 year. The Prime crew delivered quite a surprising change with this year’s release, taking a step away from the bow concept they were known for, and offering a whole new design.

The all-new Inline compound bow is a completely new concept in a bow that was designed to take accuracy and feel to a whole new level.

Prime Inline Bow Review
Meet the all-new Prime Inline compound bow for 2022.

This review will cover the Inline 3, with a 33″ axle to axle length, but you’ll find the 2022 lineup also includes 2 other models: the Inline 1 and Inline 5. These bows have axle to axle lengths of 31” and 35” respectively. But all 3 bows have one thing in common and that’s Prime’s new lnline Cam System, a technology that Prime says separates this bow from the competition in several critical areas.

Take a closer look at the Inline 3 in the video below…

The lnline Cam System is the first of its kind. Much like Prime’s previous cam system, the overall goal was to create an equally loaded cam throughout the draw cycle. This is achieved by bringing the cable track in line with the string track. Take a closer look at how it works in the video below.

As the bow is drawn, the cable track slides in line with the string, making the cable and string equally in line with each other. This in-line binary system creates a more balanced cam. Prime says it’s the most accurate compound bow they’ve ever produced.

Prime Archery Releases New Inline Bow Series For 2022

The engineers at prime admit that the parallel cam design, while functional toward the goal of achieving greater balance at full draw, can be complicated and heavy. The bottom line, there’s more to go wrong when you have more cams, strings, and cables in play. Their goal was to simplify things for 2022. The result was the Inline bow design.

The Prime team has managed to pull off the ability to maintain the incredible balance found in their previous bow lineup in a simpler design, without the need for a parallel cam. It was a bold move that broke away from what they had hung their hat on for many years. However, admitting that there’s a better way goes a long way toward maintaining a strong following, as well as building trust with any skeptics out there.

The Grip

The Inline comes standard with Prime’s popular Nano Grip system. The Nano Grip uses a unique Aerogel, developed by NASA.  It’s designed to never get cold, no matter the weather outside.

It fits nicely in my hand and holds steady. I don’t think I would add any tape or anything to it. I like the way it feels, right out of the box.

Nano Grip

The Inline 3 draws smooth and steady throughout the cycle. It has a solid back wall that’ll keep you comfortable at full draw. It’s one of those bows you feel like you have to push back down if you’re attempting to let down from full draw without shooting.

The bow shoots well with very minimal hand shock at the shot. It’s the perfect blend of ample speed and smooth performance throughout the shot cycle. It’s a sweet shooter, no doubt.

Other Features Found in the Inline 3

Other top features carried over to the Inline bow include:
  • 82x Aluminum – Stiffest and lightest aluminum riser on the market.
  • Flexis Roller Guard – Moves during draw cycle to reduce cam load.
  • Center Balanced Riser – Instead of having the bow be top heavy, Prime bumped the grip up making it perfectly balanced.
  • Swerve Technology – A curve was added here to help mimic the action of the top of the riser, making them move the same.

The Prime Inline 3 rings up for $1199. Check it out at your local Prime dealer, or see it online at www.g5prime.com
