Passing On The Tradition With Heartland Bowhunter

As hunters, it’s good to look back and reflect on the family and friends that got us to where we are today. It’s also important to evaluate how we are doing in our effort to pass that tradition on to the next generation.

Michael Hunsucker of Heartland Bowhunter sums it up quite nicely in the latest HB film, Passing on the Tradition: My Family’s Hunting Heritage.

Check it out in the video below.

“It’s an honor to share the story of my family’s hunting heritage and the deep connection we have with the meat we bring home,” says Hunsucker. “Hunting has been a part of my family’s traditions for generations, and it has always been about more than just the sport. It’s a way of life that helps us feel connected to the natural world and to the food we eat.”

Hunsucker works hard to ensure his family knows the importance of where their meat comes from, and the goodness of what comes with it. His wife and boys are all part of the process of taking meat from the field to the table.

“Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or just curious about this time-honored tradition, I hope this video will inspire you to think more deeply about the food we eat and the connection between our hunting heritage and the natural world. My journey through my hunting heritage and discovering the joys and challenges of hunting have defined the importance of respecting and appreciating the animals we bring home.”

What about you? How did you get started hunting? Who took you on that first hunt? And how are you passing on the tradition to the next generation?
