There was a time when the Phil Robertson name and renown was limited to the waterfowl world. However, many years later, Robertson would become a household name among hunters of all kinds, as well as non-hunters all across the world through the Duck Dynasty years.Â
Sadly, the Robertson crew said their final goodbyes to family patriarch, Phil Robertson, this past weekend when he died at the age of 79 on May 25th.Â
The family made the announcement of Robertson’s battle with Alzheimer’s disease back in December on the Unashamed Podcast.Â
A message shared on the Phil Robertson Facebook page shared the news of his passing on Sunday.Â
We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord. He reminded us often of the words of Paul, “you do not grieve like those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him.”Â
Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life saved by grace, by his bold faith, and by his desire to tell everyone who would listen the Good News of Jesus. We are grateful for his life on earth and will continue the legacy of love for God and love for others until we see him again.Â
The Robertson FamilyÂ
“My dad has gone to be with the Lord today!” said Phil’s son, Jase Robertson. “He will be missed, but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!”
Robertson’s duck hunting videos first popped up decades ago, raising the bar in waterfowl hunting content. Duck hunting DVDs and a Duck Commander show on the Outdoor Channel would soon become the platform for the popular video series produced by the Robertson team.
However, when the Duck Dynasty series came on the scene in 2012, the Robertson family would quickly become a favorite of men, women, boys and girls far beyond the hunting community.
The message of family and faith is a legacy that Phil Robertson will always be remembered for.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Robertson family left behind.
