CRAZY! Locked Buck Sheds IN FRONT of Hunter!

By April 3, 2026

How many times have you ever found a pair of locked bucks while roaming in the woods? Most folks’ answer would be zero, and that is no doubt the majority. To make that number even smaller, if you do find them, chances are they’ve long expired by then. Now you’re getting into the weeds here – this situation seems like a one in a BILLION chance (odds may be a bit exaggerated)

Illinois resident Myles Harkless was shed hunting down in West Central Illinois when he stumbled upon something that most people don’t get to see in their lifetime. While walking along the edge of a cornfield, he spotted 2 bucks locked together, one already expired, while the other seemed tired out and on its last legs.

As he spotted the pair, he grabbed his phone and immediately started recording. The sight of him made the lively deer start to drag, shake and attempt to run off with no avail. What happened shortly after is mind blowing.

Watch as this Illinois buck makes a final, desperate attempt at freedom:

As you can see in the video, the deer that was still alive starts dragging him into the treeline. As he gets closer and closer, the deer appears to get more and more frantic.

Finally, like something you’ve never seen before, his antlers just pop right off. One of them stayed in the dead buck’s antlers, while the other fell just a few feet away!

If it weren’t for Harkless, both of these bucks would be goners. He mentioned that the dead buck had already been eaten up a bit by coyotes, so he wasn’t quite sure how the situation came to fruition.

The buck that ran off could have started sparring with the dead buck after it expired, since the likelihood of it NOT being eaten alive by coyotes is pretty slim. Either way, it made for some insane footage that we felt needed to be showcased to show the reality of nature.
