Bear Archery continues to build on their reputation for delivering value and performance in their compound bow lineup for 2022. You’ll find it in their Escalate and Resurgence RTH bows. Both options deliver deadly huntability and performance with a price tag under $800.

Take a closer look in our Bear Escalate and Bear Resurgence RTH bow review below.

A Closer Look at the Escalate

The Bear team went into the design process of the Escalate with a focus on beefing things up in performance and stealth. You’ll find it loaded with the popular EKO cam system and some new additions for a quiet and shooter friendly shooting experience.

The bow features Bear’s new KillerWave limb dampeners and a vibration eliminating string stop to reduce hand shock.

The bow delivers plenty of speed, clocking in at up to 339 feet per second and fits a wide range of shooters with its draw length range from 26″ – 30″.

The Bear Escalate and Resurgence RTH deliver performance and value.

The Escalate comes standard with the new GrizGrip that delivers a more relaxed and natural grip on the bow.

The grip fits nicely in my hand without sliding or shifting. It’s a slim and trim design that I think a lot of hunters will like, right out of the box.

Escalate Performance

The Escalate draws smooth and easy on the front end of the draw cycle. You’ll notice it stack a little on the back side of the draw cycle prior to breaking over to a solid back wall.

There’s a little thump at the shot, but overall the bow is quiet and vibration free, making for a nice shooting bow rig.

The Escalate clocked in at 287 FPS through the chrono with my 410 grain hunting arrow, setup at 28″ draw length and 70# draw weight.

A Closer Look at the Resurgence RTH

The Resurgence RTH is a ready to hunt package bow built with performance and a bargain price. But don’t mistakenly think this is a watered down version of a performance bow, or a youth model. It’s a smooth shooting, heavy hitter that’s ready to roll right out of the box. Best yet, it comes in at under $650.

The bow features Bear’s DHC 80% hybrid cam system. It delivers Bear’s signature smooth draw cycle with an 80% let-off and a solid back wall to ensure consistency with every shot.

Like the Escalate, the Resurgence RTH features the new KillerWave limb dampeners to reduce vibration and increase accuracy.

The Resurgence is a smooth shooting rig that you can dial in quick and easy to get you in the woods faster than ever.

The Ready to Hunt Package

I like the way this bow performed on the range. It’s a great shooter, with a nice blend of speed, smooth draw, and accuracy. It’s not what you typically see in a package bow. However this rig delivers the  performance, plus the value in a ready to hunt package.

The Resurgence RTH package includes a Trophy Ridge Joker 4-pin sight, 5-spot quiver, Blitz stabilizer, Whisker Biscuit V, peep sight, and D loop.

It makes for a quick and easy setup to get you on the range or in the woods faster.

Resurgence Performance

Despite being lighter on price, the  Resurgence is a heavyweight when it comes to performance on the range. As mentioned above, the RTH package allows you to get set up quickly. However, the smooth shootability is what will first catch your attention with this bow. The DHC Hybrid Cam system delivers a super smooth draw from start to finish. It’s a shooter-friendly bow that has plenty of speed as well.

The bow clocked in at 292 FPS through the chrono with my 410 grain hunting arrow, set up at 28″ draw length and 70# draw weight.
