I was always a finger shooter for 50 years. In 2011 I decided to try a new fangled release bow and had to decide on a wrist or hand held release. I noticed that Bob Folkrod had switched from fingers to handheld. I can’t stand anything on my fingers nor on my wrists so I too chose a handheld release. Switching to a release was a nightmare for me as I was so use to just letting go of the string. Anyway, the handheld thumb tap release has worked out great for me. I found that just moving my thumb is way less movement than pulling my arm back further to move the thumb release. I also like the fact that while stalking animals and sitting in a tree stand or a blind having the release already hooked on to the string loop makes every thing easier and faster. One bit of advice in addition to the release in my coat pocket I also have backup in my pants pocket in case I drop the first release.
