I don’t advocate shooting deer head on or them facing you. However, if you insist on stopping them walking toward you. Shoot them to the left of that front leg facing you, in the chest. It is stupid to try to shoot a deer facing you , behind that front leg that is quartering to you. Because all you are going to hit is liver, guts and if you are very lucky, a little lung. Thus, leading to a wounded deer to track for days or hours. With no more penetrating than those expandable’s heads get. It is the better shot to shoot him in the chest because the vitals are there, and very close to the chest, easy to hit. You shoot those expandables because the fly accurately, so why not take that shot, instead of the one angling backwards, towards the guts? Don’t worry about that front shoulder! You will find him quick and graveyard dead. No more coyote bait.

Albert Einstein said, ” The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a different result. ” Stop shooting deer facing you, and then say, ” I smoked him.” Then spend two days trailing him. Stop the insanity.
