We have a CRAZY story coming from Nebraska, where if you haven’t heard already, wildfires are tearing through the state. As of earlier today (3/16) more than 600,000 acres of land has been burnt to a crisp, while threatening any and all local wildlife & and forcing the capable ones to run for their lives.
Although there actively isn’t anything “good” that comes out of this, we were able to talk to Jordan Adams, who has a farm in Nebraska that was hit with the fire. Adams tells us that once the fire had died down in his immediate area, he had some checking up to do on his place. Being a hunter, he had a few trail cameras placed out on his property. A couple of his cell cameras caught the fire up until they were engulfed, where they stopped taking photos.
While he knew he lost the ability to use these particular cameras ever again, it was still worth going and picking them out of the burn to see what, if anything, was salvageable. That turned out to be extremely valuable, as one of his SD cameras on the outside looked rough, but the card inside was still usable & filled with some insanely cool captures you don’t see everyday. Take a look at these photos below as the fire engulfs the area around the camera!
Adams bought the property 6 months prior to the wildfire, and they had done some work to help get it prepped for the fall of 2026. They had built a shed on the property, where they kept their John Deere gator among other miscellaneous items. Unfortunately, that got taken down in the fire as well.
As one may know, after a burn, natural regrowth occurs. With upcoming warm temps, green will start popping up everywhere & create a lush habitat once again. As for now, the fire is still kicking, and we can only pray for rain to stop this madness, as it is simply to big to be contained.
