Union Sportsmen’s Alliance’s Nevada Trophy Elk Hunt Sweepstakes Provides
Opportunity to Invest in America’s Outdoor Legacy

Nashville, TN—The Union Sportsmen’s Alliance and the International Union of Elevator Constructors have joined forces to give AFL-CIO affiliated Union members the opportunity to win a Nevada trophy elk hunt, while supporting conservation efforts.

One lucky Union winner will join noted guide and outfitter Shad Leeder of Leeder Hunting for a 7-day, all-inclusive, pack train hunt in Nevada’s Schell Creek and Snake Range areas, where bulls typically score 330-350 and can exceed 400 Boone & Crockett points.

“This hunt really is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” said William Stanley, Director of Organizing for the IUEC. “The Nevada elk hunt population is so well managed that a working man or woman, who can’t afford a $10,000 land-owner tag, may only have one or two chances in their lifetime to hunt elk in the Silver State.”

In addition to the guided hunt, the $18,000 prize package includes a highly coveted landowner elk permit, licenses, roundtrip airfare to Las Vegas, ground transportation, meals and lodging.

No purchase or donation is required to enter the sweepstakes, but donations are encouraged and will help get the USA’s conservation program, Boots on the Ground (BOTG) on its feet. Suggested donation levels include $10 for 3 entries, $25 for 8 entries, $50 for 20 entries and $100 for 45 entries.

Boots on the Ground brings together federal, state and local wildlife agencies with Union members willing to volunteer their time and expertise to tackle conservation projects that improve and enhance public access, wildlife habitat and outdoor experiences for communities across America.

“The Nevada trophy elk sweepstakes offers Union members the opportunity to not only win the hunt of a lifetime but to reinvest in the future of our hunting and fishing lands,” said USA Executive Director Fred Myers. “When you make a donation to Boots on the Ground, you’ll be conserving America’s treasured outdoor legacy.”

The sweepstakes runs from Sunday, May 1 through Friday, September 23. The winner will be drawn on Wednesday, September 28, and the hunt will take place from November 12-18, 2011.
