Very unusual trail camera photo! – What is it?

Well this I know for sure –

It is not Sasquatch!

A good friend of mine just sent me this photo and asked me – What do you think it is?

For now I am going to hold my opions to myself. Let us know what you think it is by using the "leave a comment" link below.

Pic was taken in Northern Illinois, and it sure looks like a deer to me! If I had to guess it's a buck and he's about to run doing the "drop and move" right before he takes off. The rear end gives it away.

It's a yote or a dog.. the tail gives it away. If it were a deer it's legs would be in a much different position.. since they walk in a foot into foot pattern. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a German Shepherd.

It's seems to just be one of those goofy trail cam shots were the subject was moving. But a K-9 is my guess.

I'll agree with the comment that it is a deer. I think the thing that looks like a tail is not a tail at all – some illusion with the brush behind. The white patch on the rump makes me think "deer."

It can't be a cougar as the front leg is way too skinny.

It seems too big to be a dog – but for all I know, we could easily all be wrong.

Hard to tell given the lowlight resolution and distance from camera.
Best guess is a large coyote, look at the dark markings right behind the front shoulder.

I vote that Chupacabra migrated north. Unless this pic was taken in Mexico?

  9. I am going with a deer. I can't tell if it is a doe or buck…but it is a deer. The problem with the image is a blur that is usually associated to the flash going off a split second after the shutter is open and basically ghosting the image.

    What do I win?

I can't believe all the comments about it's a deer.

Does nobody else notice the right front leg of this animal. The knee bends the wrong way for it to even be a deer.

    Buehler… buehler…

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

  25. definatel some sort of k-9, note the color variation on the back and the almost undoubtedly black splotch on the LONG tail….also the legs look to awkward for it to be a deer…

  26. Definitely a deer! No canid type animal has a front leg that long and a white rump!

I have seen all comments some of you were talking that it’s a deer but I think its not deer in picture the animal has long tail and long hairs on tail and black hair at end of tail. I think animal is looking angry and he is looking behind and from his style I can definitely say that it’s a wild wolf.

Nah..to me it still looks like a big deer who is running to save his life from the strong bow that is being shot targeting him.If you closely look at the picture and mainly on the front part which covers the head, you would see it's a deer head seen.

It's certainly a big buck with long horns, no doubt about that.It must have understood that it's being ran after for hunting and so it's running for its life. But I am not sure if it could finally escape away from from the hands of these expert hunters.

tips is very nice. so i am very impressed of your site your site is very use full.but i think Should you be judged by what you wear? Perhaps not, but the reality is, of course, that you are judged. Throughout the entire job-seeking process employers use short-cuts — heuristics or rules of thumb — to save time

good tips so i am very impressed of your site.your site is very use full.Despite their relatively small stature, whitetails are tough game animals. Anything less than a fatal shot can mean a lost animal, and even when hit properly, whitetails are notoriously difficult to locate if they run off before dying. Avoid brain and spine shots, seeking instead the centre lung shot
