As hunters, we are accustomed to the finer details of a wall well-versed with the stuffed remains of our past hunts. Thanks to our local taxidermists, whom often become great friends, these trophies adorn our homes whispering the tale of the ones that didn’t get away. They’re memory and triumph all rolled into one.

While non-hunters share less connection to these ancient art-forms, many still seek them for home decoration. Among these surprising collectors is Hollywood actress, Amanda Seyfried, who professed her love for taxidermy on Conan earlier this week in front of millions.

“I have a three-week-old, died of natural causes, miniature horse,” the Mama Mia star said of her taxidermy collection. “I have a chick that I just got, her name is Linda. Well she’s not alive, but her name would have been Linda. And then I have an owl named Beatrix and I have a few butterflies,” she added. “I’m just getting started. It’s just the beginning.”

Once the jokes cleared, Conan surprised Seyfried with a stuffed raccoon with a jet-pack strapped on its back. A raccoon that’s been used as a prop on many sketches before – her reaction was priceless.
