What an awesome hunt. Beautiful shots by both hunters. I hope I can get the chance to put a shot on a nice whitetail this season and do it as nicely as you guys did with these animals. Very humane and ethical shots.

I think you took a bad shot. The reason is we all know that the arrow will pass thru and there was a doe directly behind the buck you shot. Secondly, the buck that was drinking next to your buck could have jumped the string and you would have shot him in the neck. I am glad that none of the above happened, but I still think you should have waited.
