Packaging: The tool tip was dipped in a wax like substance to preserve the edge. This was a nice touch from the manufacturer.
The tool has some substance. I expected something of lower quality aluminum. I was wrong. Picking up the tool demonstrated something of better quality. It was "real" metal which made it easier to use.
Usage: I stripped a dozen arrows with three vanes each in very short order. The arrows were carbon. There was no damage to the arrow.
Misc: I did not test to see if this tool can remove "wrappers". I didn't have them on any of the arrows I was working on.
Of course, additional cleaning will be necessary. A friend suggested a utility knife instead of buying a fletch remover. Arrows are expensive. If you are taking the time to repair or customize them, why risk cutting into the shaft? Get this tool.
