You want to get in the tree quick and know exactly where your stand will be placed? Start using these sticks! I can look at ANY tree and within seconds know if it's the right one for me, how many sticks I'll need and where to put my stand in the tree. I have left these in the woods for multiple years with great working condition year after year. That being said, I would heed the manufacturers advice.
