Mathews Shooter Sarah Lance Wins Unlimited Class Title in Vegas

Sarah Lance shooting a bowThe World Archery Festival was held February 7 – 9 in Las Vegas Nevada. This is one of the biggest indoor tournaments of the season. It is the first jewel in the NFAA 3 Star Tour. This year, when the winners were announced, Sarah Lance captured the championship in the Compound Unlimited Female class.

So far this season, Sarah Lance has been a force to be reckoned with. She had a second place finish at the Iowa Pro/Am shoot and she won the Lancaster Classic. Well, this weekend, Lance continued her dominant start. Lance was the only female to turn in a perfect 900 score. She finished with a score of 900-68 and finished two points ahead of teammate Crystal Gauvin, who finished in second place with a score of 898-64. Mathews finished with five of the top ten finishers in the class. The rest of the top ten included: Christie Colin, 896-56, 5thplace; Kailey Johnston, 896-52, 6th place and Tristan Skarvan, 894-61 in 10th place.

In the Compound Unlimited Male class, the top Mathews finisher was Braden Gellenthien. Gellenthien had a score of 900-81 and made the shoot off. There were 14 competitors that we in the shoot off and Gellenthien finished in 8th place.

In the Freestyle Unlimited Senior class, the top Mathews finisher was Jackie White. White had a final score of 897-63 and finished in 4th place. Duane Price was 5th with a score of 897-70.
