The dictionary defines crossbow as a “medieval weapon,” but there is absolutely nothing archaic about the four new models in Barnett’s highly popular Core line of crossbows. These weapons are designed for the value-minded hunter who refuses to compromise on performance.
All four of the new Barnett Core crossbows feature lightweight composite stocks and CNC Machined 7/8-inch Picatinny rails-the military standard for mounting scopes. They also have “finger reminders” for shooting safety and pass-through foregrips, plus the company’s proprietary CROSSFIRE String and Cable System.
The new Brotherhood is the most powerful weapon of the four new models, with a draw weight of 160 pounds that can deliver 109 foot-pounds of energy and shoot a bolt at 350 feet per second. It features a lightweight Magnesium STR Riser and high- definition camo pattern. The package includes a 4×32 multi-reticle scope and a quiver with three 20-inch Headhunter bolts.
The new Raptor FX and Lady Raptor FX have 150-pound draw weights and share the same cutting-edge design that includes custom composite limbs and a high- energy cam system capable of flinging bolts at 330 feet per second while generating 97 foot-pounds of energy. While they both feature high-definition camo patterns, the Lady Raptor incorporates the color pink for the female hunter who prefers to stand out from the boys. The package includes a 4×32 mulit-reticle scope, a rope, cocking device and three-bolt quiver with three, 20-inch Headhunter bolts. A Red Dot Sight is also available for these bows.
The new BCR Recurve is the classic design that can shoot a bolt at 245 feet per second (consider that a 20-yard shot delivers the bolt in about a quarter second) and generate 65 foot/pounds of energy. Costing $199.99, the package includes a premium Red Dot Sight and a three-bolt quiver with three, 18-inch Barnett Bolts.
