Brian Andrews, who lives in Jena, is already busy organizing banquets to support WTU’s mission of conservation, education, and the preservation of an American tradition.

“This is a great step forward for us as an organization, because we now have an outstanding representative in Louisiana, a state with a long, proud tradition of deer hunting,” said David Hawkey, vice president of field operation for WTU. “We know that Brian will be a true advocate for his chapters in Louisiana. Brian has a great personality, he is a true hunter and outdoorsman, and he is excited about WTU becoming more active in the South. He will be an outstanding asset for assisting deer hunters with their local conservation projects.”

Whitetails Unlimited has had many inquiries about conducting more events in Louisiana, and now that Andrews is in place we can expand our support for the state’s sportsmen and women, as well as organizations that are looking for a vehicle for fundraising that is easy, fun, and has tremendous benefits for the local community. Unique among conservation organizations, Whitetails Unlimited returns 50 percent of net event proceeds to local organizations, to be used for local projects.

Andrews is an active hunter, and also fishes and is a 3D tournament archer. His background includes law enforcement and real estate sales with Cabela’s Trophy Properties.

“Brian is a real hunter and outdoorsman, which means he understand our members,” said WTU Executive Director Pete Gerl. “Hunters in the South have a real passion for deer hunting, and we’re excited about expanding WTU events in this region of the country. Our programs and events will be a great fit for both hunters and conservation across the state, and we’re looking forward to being a part of an American tradition in Louisiana.”
