Virginia hunters – Now is the time to put pressure on elected officials. Contact them and help end the ban on Sunday hunting.
Late last week the Virginia Senate passed Bill 464 with a final vote of 29-11 which would allow Sunday hunting on private lands. Although typically pro-gun, eight out of the eleven votes against Sunday hunting were Republicans, including co-chair of the Senate’s sportsmen’s caucus – Senator Emmett W. Hanger (R-Augustus).
The bill, which typically has never made it past Senate Committees, will now face a much tougher battle in the House of Delegates. Virginia Delegates are aware, however, that Governor Bob McDonell supports the lift on Sunday hunting and is ready to sign any bill that would allow the lifting of the ban.

Introduced by Senator Ralph Northam (D-Norfolk), Bill 464 would allow Sunday hunting on private property only; prohibit it within 250 yards of a place of worship, and the use of hunting dogs.
