Slight decline in Illinois deer harvest totals.

Illinois deer hunters took 181,411 deer during the 2011-12 seasons – down slightly from last year’s 182,270 mark. This mark represents a 20,000 animal decrease from the 2005-06 seasons when the state’s deer hunter’s recorded a record 201,209 deer harvest.

Of the deer taken throughout the 2011-12 season, 49.2 percent were does while 50.8 perfect were males.
