Considering I have only gotten a 4 pt with my bow and the biggest I ever seen here in Michigan is a 6 pt. I would shoot. he is already a giant to me!

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
If I saw this buck on public ground I would shoot. If this guy is on my ground I would let him grow.

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
it all depends on the person, if you are on your own land practicing quality deer management, then i would pass...but if your just a normal guy who loves to just be out in the woods hunting, then shoot no questions asked...even if it was a fork or spike any deer can be a trophy to anyone!

To me it's a shooter, it's all a personal thing. Anyone who says otherwise is ridiculous!

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
Unless you have thousands of acres I'd shoot that deer. A lot of people never see a buck of that caliber on the hoof...

I would put a blue streak through him in a second.
If you don't shoot him, your neighbor will

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
In my eyes yes he is a very large deer but looks to me to be a 3 1/2 year old deer probably scoring around 150 to 160. A good trophy by any standard but give this deer another two years and you have a 200 inch b&c deer. One of the biggest problems were I hunt is that everybody has that mentality that if I don't shoot them someone else will or think that going home with a spike is better than nothing. I have went seasons without shooting a deer but that doesn't mean I haven't seen nice bucks and that's why in my eyes those seasons were just as successful as when I have harvested a deer.

I'm not going to act like I should let him grow and then risk him dying some other way. Shoot it! It's a giant!

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
He is a giant deer but he is young he still has growth potential. A trophy is in the eye of the beholder. It would be hard for me to pass him cause I just dont't get to see that caliber of deer.

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
Me since i am hunting public land and never shot a deer, if he walked by me id be shaking like a leaf. I would definantly shoot him. But ive watched every episode of Bowhunt Or Die and i know the land you guys hunt holds bigger bucks than this one. If you dont have a buck come late season, take him.

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
I agree, if this is your woods let him go. But if hes on public land put a arrow thru him before anyone else does..

Re: Stealth Cam Bucks
Can't tell if he's young w/ room to grow or older and on the downside...it would depend on those factors and if you've seen other nice bucks on that parcel. Where I hunt (public land) I'd do my best to drop him. I've only seen that nice of a rack 3-4 times in 4 years. We get bigger bodies but less antlers 'round here.
