Carbon Express Pro Staff Win’s 2015 World Archery Championship

By Hunting NetworkAugust 4, 2015

Danish team member and Carbon Express Pro Staffer Stephan Hansen did not disappoint the record crowds in Copenhagen at the 2015 World Archery Championship on his quest for a Senior World Tile.

Hansen began the Championships by winning the Bronze with the Danish compound men’s team during the morning session on Saturday in downtown Copenhagen. He only missed the 10-ring once in eight arrows in that match giving the crowed a little taste of what was to come in the individual event later that afternoon.

During the elimination rounds of the men’s individual event Hansen faced previous World Champion Mike Schloesser beating Mike in a shoot-off.

For the final round Stephan faced one of the most consistent archers on the international circuit Rajat Chauhan of India.

The match started with each archer shooting 29 out of 30 points in the first two ends for a tie at 58-58. With the pressure of the record crowd watching Hansen shot three 10’s for a perfect end of 30, while Rajat showed his only weakness during the match, shooting an 8 for a finial end score of 28.

With just three shots out of the 10-ring for the entire match Hansen was crowned with the Senior World Title with a final score: 147-143. This gold medal adds to an amazing junior career with three youth world titles in a row – the latest title came in June in Yankton South Dakota.

Hansen relied on his Carbon Express Nano Pro 450’s to win all of his world titles.
