The late season has finally arrived and that means cold weather is here to stay. While some bowhunters will call it quits and settle in to the comforts of their couch, diehard bowhunters will buckle down and ride it out to punch some late season tags. Here’s some innovative gear to help you endure the cold weather on your next late season hunt.

TheremaCELL Heated Insoles

Thermacell Heated Insoles

Cold feet are of the devil. And nothing will send a grown man from the treestand to the truck as quick as cold feet. If you’re like me, you’ve tried everything from the battery operated socks you got for Christmas to the big, bulky boot muffs. Now there’s a simpler solution to cure cold feet. ThermaCELL Heated Insoles, advanced heat technology provides remote controlled foot warming comfort as needed.  The high-tech wireless remote gives fingertip control between medium heat (100°F), high heat (111°F) and no heat, all while feet remain comfortably inside your shoes or boots.  Each remote features a uniquely coded, highly reliable radio frequency transmitter that is paired to one set of insoles and has a range of seven feet. It can easily be attached to zippers and belts, or simply stored inside a pocket. ThermaCELL Heated Insoles provide your feet with continuous warmth for up to five hours, or using them in intervals, they can last much longer.  Lightweight lithium-ion polymer batteries imbedded in the insole eliminate the need for bulky batteries strapped to your boot, and these batteries can be recharged up to 500 times.

Brunton HEATSYNC

Brunton Heatsync Vital

Brunton heats things up in a whole new way with their HEATSYNC line of products. The HEATSYNC VITAL is an under-the-jacket heating system designed to keep you warm in the harshest conditions. The VITAL is a one-size-fits-all unit, so every member of the family can benefit from this powered heat source on cold weather hunts. The HEATSYNC is ideal for cold weather situations where movement or activity is low. HEATSYNC VITAL rests against a shirt or base-layer and is powered by any BRUNTON 5V/2.1AMP USB power bank (not included). Also, from Brunton is the HEATSYNC HOT SEAT. This heated camp chair is sure to make those long sits in the stand or ground blind much more enjoyable during your late season hunts.

Milwaukee M12 Heated Gear

The Milwaukee brand is long known for its quality tools. They’re now expanding that line of tools to benefit hunters and outdoorsmen with a slick new concept in heated gear called Milwaukee M12. M12 apparel offers an adjustable heat zone that spans the chest and back providing the right amount of heat for any season. In the cool months of spring and fall, the M12 Heated Hoodie can be worn as a rugged outer layer. In the harshest winter conditions, it works great as a solitary base layer that allows users to shed bulky undergarments while generating and holding heat close to the body for long hours on the stand. The M12 Heated Hoodies provide up to 6 hours of continuous heat per battery charge to keep you in the hunt without the need for multiple layers to stay warm.

Gerbing Softshell Vest

Another great option for keeping your core warm and toasty is the Gerbing Softshell Vest. Gerbing boasts this vest as the world’s most advanced soft shell vest, designed to conquer strong winds with its coreheat7 Thermovelocity Protection and multilayer windproofing. The vest offers in-pocket heat control, water resistant weld chest pocket, and an adjustable drawcord to trap heat and seal out the elements you’ll encounter on your late season hunts.

Zippo Hand Warmer

There’s simply no excuse for cold hands while hunting. If you’re hands are cold and numb while sitting in the treestand, you’ll never be able to pull off the shot at the moment of truth. Gloves and muffs can be bulky. I love something that keeps my hands warm while tucked away in pockets. Here’s a new tool that does just that. The folks at Zippo decided to take things outside with their new Zippo Hand Warmer. The Hand Warmers are fueled by Zippo’s premium lighter fluid and last up to 12 hours. Replacement burners are available for this unit. The Zippo Hand Warmer comes with a 2-year guarantee. Zippo Hand Warmers are available in black, camo, and other color options.

Cold weather hunting can be brutal. Everything seems to change at this time of year. It takes mental and physical endurance to stay in the game during the late season. Go the distance this season with some of the slick new heated gear designed to keep you in the woods long after the snow flurries fly.
