Mathews Retailer Show: 2013 Gear Roundup

Every year, archery companies bring their latest and greatest Mathews/Lost Camo licensed products to the Mathews Retailer Show to let Mathews retailers check out their products. This year there were many gadgets and gizmos that caught my eye. Below are some of the latest archery accessories you might not be able to live without.

EZ HUNT & HAUL
Most bowhunters enjoy hunting from a ground blind from time to time; either for deer or turkeys. The new EZ Hunt & Haul Trailer I spotted at the Mathews Show is like a ground blind on steroids. The EZ Hunt & Haul is a hard-sided trailer that comes in Lost Camo.

 Hunt Haul

Talk about a unique and versatile blind!

The trailer can be used as a field hunting blind for geese and ducks and as an ice fishing shanty. It even has a doggy door. In addition, the blind is collapsible and can be used as an ATV trailer. When you are done using the blind, break it down, load your ATV and you are ready for a road trip.

MASTER TARGET
The Master Target booth at the Mathews Show received a lot of traffic. Master Targets are paper thin plastic targets that can handle hundreds of shots being shot through them. This year they are offering a zombie target, a league deer target and several Mathews Archery targets.

Master Tragets aren’t your ordinary paper targets.

WHITE RHINO GRIP
If you like bowhunting during the rut in the Midwest or up north, your hands have probably gotten cold a time or two in the past. Kiss cold hands goodbye with the White Rhino heated grips. The Rhino grips add very little weight to your bow but will keep hands warm for up to five hours. The Rhino grip feels like a Mathews Focus grip.

Cold hands won’t send you home ever again!

MOSSBERG
When you think about Mathews, the last thing you think about is guns but for 2013, Mossberg has teamed up with Mathews and is offering a line of shotguns that contain an extra large Mathews harmonic damper in the stock of the gun. It looks awesome and reportedly reduced recoil over 20%.

Mathews’ cutting edge technology can now be found on your favorite turkey gun.

VELOCITIP
For the last several years, I noticed the Velocitip at the Mathews Show. The Velocitip is a field point that records all the data from the bow as it is being shot into a target. Some of the information it records includes Arrow Drag to precisely measure launch and impact speed and energy retained for use in comparing bow performance and arrow spine. The unit precisely records time-of-flight in milliseconds. It is completely portable for indoor and outdoor use (not for use in rain or snow). It is available in U.S. or Metric units: this can be selected by the user. If you are a techno junkie or own a pro shop, this is the perfect product for you. The handheld device plugs into a computer so you can check all the data.

With one shot you can learn a great deal of information about your setup.

WHITETAILR SCENTPURGE
If you are a scent-free fanatic, check out the ScentPURGE until from WhitetailR. We have all heard of ozone machines that destroy human odor at the molecular level. The ScentPURGE unit is a small device that does just that. Unlike large units that you use hunting, the ScentPURGE unit is designed to be used in the storage container you store your hunting clothes and gear in. It runs on batteries and will quickly eliminate the odor on your hunting clothes. Just drop it inside the container and turn it on.

A more compact design for scent control fanatics!

LAKEWOOD CASE
If you travel with your bow, you will need a top notch bow case that can take a beating and protect your bow. Lakewood Bow Cases has teamed up with Mathews to offer the C275 41” bow case. It comes in Lost Camo and can store your bow with the quiver attached. It has storage space for extra arrows and the case is airline approved. Unlike other bow cases that weigh a lot, the Lakewood case is tough yet lightweight, so you don’t break your back when traveling with it.

SCHAFFER OPPOSITION LITE REST
If you are looking for a durable arrow rest that can handle the extreme speeds a Mathews bow puts out, check out the Schaffer Performance Archery Opposition Lite Arrow Rest. This unique rest has two jaws that contain the arrow. Upon shooting the bow, the jaws glide to the right and to the left and the arrow passes through the rest. This rest has been tested at 418 FPS. The Opposition Lite Rest comes with a push button that when depressed, holds the arrow in place until the bow is shot, eliminating the chance of the arrow falling out of the rest. The rest can be shot in the cocked or uncocked position. The rest can be purchased in Black or Lost Camo. Colored push buttons can be purchased to match your favorite bow.

AXION DAMPER
For those who want a tricked out bow, Axion makes Limb Dampers that eliminate vibration and look awesome. The limb dampers are designed to fit on the new Mathews split limb bows and are built with a Mathews harmonic damper in them. They come in a variety of colors so you can customize your bow.

Axion products not only function extremely well, they look awesome too!
