The GIANT Field & Stream buck update.

All summer long on the various bowhunting forums we saw post after post of a low quality video featuring an incredible animal dubbed the "Field & Stream" buck.  An animal of such size it was once thought to be the "walking" world record typical whitetail.  It was videoed in no other than world famous Buffalo County Wisconsin, the worlds largest producer of Pope & Young whitetails.

On November, 1st 2008 Bob decker of WI arrowed the gigantic Wisconsin monster, a reported mere half mile from where the famous video footage of the buck was captured.  After official P&Y scoring, the buck was measured as non-typical because of numerous abnormal point growths.  The whitetail is the new archery state record taping in at an outstanding 233 2/8's inches net non-typical!  The Decker buck displaced a bow kill from 1979, a 231 5/8's monster for the top spot.  As large as this buck is it does however fall short of the overall state record non-typical which was a gun kill from 1998, that buck scored a whopping 247 3/8's.

Congrats to Bob Decker on an outstanding whitetail!  Milo Hanson is still safe, for now....
