Throughout all my years of hunting I have had the fortunate opportunity to meet a wide variety of people from all walks of life. From the northernmost Canadian province to the heat of South America and from executive conference rooms to contstruction sites people are united worldwide by their love of hunting and the outdoors.
This past season I had the great pleasure of being introduced to a few pro football players who share our love of the outdoors. I've never been much of a football guy myself, but growing up and living in the Chicagoland area my entire life one thing is for sure - you'd better be a Bears fan if you want to live around here! When I was introduced to Muhsin Muhammad, wide receiver for the Bears, I didn't quite know what to expect. What I found was that "Moose" is just as passionate about the outdoors and hunting as I am.
After a few bowhunts this fall Moose organized a group pheasant hunt at
Coon Creek Hunt Club with a few other Bears. Bobby Wade, Fred Miller, Brian Urlacher, and Desmond Clarke were among the hunters who enjoyed a great day of fast flying birds and shooting action. I really enjoyed getting to work my dogs and enjoy a great day in the field with some great hunters and new friends.
A few weeks later Moose and I took quarterback Kyle Orton on a pheasant hunt and after a hard day of hunting we had managed to bag plenty of birds.
No matter who you are or where you come from please remember that everyone deserves the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors. Whenever you get the chance to expose a new person, child or adult, to shooting sports and the outdoors please do it.
